New Paradigms of Kazakhstani Mining Sector

On March 30, 2021, the Deals Sourcing Department of AIFC Business Connect organised a webinar on the topic of “New Paradigms of Kazakhstani Mining Sector” for investors from the United Kingdom, Australia and Europe.

The following topics were covered during the webinar:

• legal changes in terms of subsoil use, which made it easier to obtain a license on a first-come-first-served basis and significantly reduced time of license issuance
• instruments of the Astana International Exchange for raising capital for mining companies
• presentation of a new platform for mining companies aixmining.kz
• experience of foreign mining companies operating in Kazakhstan, such as Rio Tinto, Yildirim Holding, Discovery Ventures

During the second (closed) part of the webinar, promising projects for the development of tungsten – molybdenum and pegmatite ores, nickel-cobalt and gold ore deposits, as well as a project for the development of copper dumps were presented for foreign investors.
