«Managing Investment Funds in AIFC» panel session was held during Astana Finance Days 2021

On July 3, within the framework of the annual online Astana Finance Days 2021 conference, a panel session “Managing Investment Funds in AIFC” was held.

Development of asset management is one of the key drivers for development of the financial services industry. AIFC is a multifunctional platform with developed infrastructure and tax advantages for conducting this type of activity.

The panel session touched upon the advantages of licensing and operating funds in the AIFC jurisdiction, the investment opportunities of the local market, and presented investment products of licensed fund-managers that will allow our markets to recover from the crisis and ensure long-term growth.

Asset Abdygapparov, CEO of Provident Fiduciary Ltd.: “AIFC legal and regulatory environment allows for additional flexibility in designing relationship among investors, as well provides great opportunities for optimization of intragroup cash flows.”

Alim Khamitov, PhD, Director of Most Investment Ltd.: “The Market of Central Asia is full of talents and good engineering teams. The approximate number of start-ups in our region is 6000, meanwhile, underfunding (lack of investments) is high and can reach $500 mln. It was one of reasons why we created private MOST Ventures fund. As a platform we have chosen AIFC. The suitable organizational and legal forms for registration of managing company and fund, tax benefits, British laws, and international venture investing instruments are the main reasons for our choice”.
