AIFC welcomed the Minister of State for Food and Water Security, Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri
On June 10th, 2021, a delegation from the United Arab Emirates headed by the Minister of State for Food and Water Security, Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri, visited the Astana International Financial Centre. Accompanied by the Chairman of the Management Board of AIFC Authority, Mr. Yernur Rysmagambetov, the delegation was welcomed with insightful presentations about the many functions of AIFC such as the Court, Academy of Law, AFSA, AIX, Islamic Finance, Expat and Green Finance Centres, as they toured and explored the grand terriotory of AIFC with its stately infrastructure. Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Zhaslan Madiyev, took part in welcoming the guests and gave a brief presentation about the state instruments provided for the support of foreign investors, as well as the direction in which the government is heading to improve the investment landscape of Kazakhstan.
Prior to the whole event, the delegation took part in a bilateral meeting on the territory of AIFC where a vigorous and detailed discussion was held with the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Saparkhan Omarov, about the investment opportunities of Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture, the state programmes and measures of support that both countries provide for their citizens. In general, the AIFC team was glad to discuss the many favourable conditions that AIFC provides as a de-risking platform for its international business community, as well as the areas in which UAE and Kazakhstan are committed to further their cooperation. Previously, in March, AIFC Business Connect played an active role in assisting the signing of 17 intergovernmental and commercial agreements on the implementation of joint projects between both countries, and in May, organised a webinar together with the Office of the Minister of State for Food and Water Security and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the UAE.
